Distribution and Habitat
Breeds in Ussuri, northeastern China, Korea, and Japan, wintering in Taiwan, southern China, and Myanmar. It is a common summer visitor to Korea.
Behavior
Lives in dense tree cover. Produces a high-pitched "shee-shee-shee-shee" or "cee-cee-cee", which could be mistaken for an insect sound and is also similar to Pale-legged Leaf Warbler. Usually looks for food alone in dense forest. If it is surprised, it can fly low between the trees and sit nearby. The nest is made of fallen leaves, moss and tree roots in shape of a bowl with animal fur and moss inside. Eat insects on the ground.
Characteristic
Not easily confused with other species. The upper body is brown with long white brow lines, and the eye lines are blackish brown. The underside of the body is white, with a very short tail.
